The Setif Court of Justice issued its decision on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, upholding the initial judgment against activist Hmimi Bouider, sentencing him to six (6) months of suspended imprisonment and a fine of 100,000 Algerian dinars.
The decision follows judicial proceedings against Bouider on charges of posting content likely to harm national interests, under Article 96 of the Penal Code, and spreading misleading information that could undermine public order, under Article 196 bis of the same code.
This ruling comes after an appeal was filed against the initial verdict handed down by the Setif Court on April 13, 2025.
The legal proceedings stem from social media posts published by Hmimi Bouider, in which he commented on political and human rights issues in Algeria.
